Hey everyone! Welcome back to The Coop with Meyer Hatchery – where we talk all things poultry in hopes of inspiring crazy chicken keepers and educating future flock owners. Each week we like to take a Meyer Moment to cover relevant happenings.

Let’s take a Meyer Moment to talk about Meyer Hatchery’s Hatch-Along. Meyer Hatchery hosts an annual Hatch-Along in March, to share our knowledge of incubating and the joy of freshly hatched spring chicks!  We also encourage you to join in on the fun and set eggs with us.

This year we’ll be sharing an exclusive behind the scenes look at how Meyer Hatchery collects and hatches eggs! In addition, our Customer Service Team we’ll be sharing their best advice for a successful hatch AND a Look Inside The Egg over on YouTube. Here you can also catch a few new vlogs from Meyer Hatchery team members who will be hatching this month too!

So how do you participate? Get your incubators prepped, collect your fertile eggs and prepare to set them. If you need to set them later in the month, that’s completely fine, feel free to jump in at any point throughout the month of March.

Share your hatching experience by using the hashtag #MHHatchAlong which I’ll be sure to include in the show notes. If this is your first time hatching, or maybe you need a refresher find our Hatching 101 guides linked below as well.

Now I know some of you may be thinking, what exactly do you want us to share? Some moments you may want to share could include setting your eggs, turning them, candling, lockdown, and the final hatch! Chicken eggs will hatch 21 days after you set them and most turkey and duck eggs will hatch 28 days after you set them. Need help keeping track? Find our incubation and egg hatch record below in the show notes as a free download!

Spring is officially on its way and so are your new flock members! We hope you’ll join us for our 4th annual Hatch-Along and share your new additions along with the thousands of other poultry enthusiasts participating.

Enjoy the rest of your week and as always, thank you for listening to The Coop!
